There are no strangers, just friends who have never met

Plantation Newcomers Club, PO Box 16543, Plantation, Florida 33318

Welcome to the city of Plantation and thank you for your interest in The Plantation Newcomers Club. The Plantation Newcomers Club is a nonprofit organization which has evolved over the past two decades to welcome and help newcomers and their families adjust to the community. The club offers a variety of social activities to newcomers and their families where they can meet people and form friendships and, at the same time, develop new talents and interests.

Members of the Plantation Newcomers Club are exposed to the various restaurants, shopping, cultural opportunities, beaches, sporting and entertainment available in Plantation and surrounding areas. It gives the newcomers the sense that they belong to the community and enables them to make their transition with others who may also be experiencing the same challenges, joys, sadness, loneliness and frustrations that many people are confronted with when moving into a new area.

New membership is open to Plantation residents who have lived here two years or less. Once they have joined, members can remain in the Club as long as they like. Members share the responsibilities of running a successful club by chairing or serving on various committees or by assisting at meetings or events. The third Thursday of each month is reserved for a luncheon or evening general meeting with an interesting program.  Our monthly newsletter, Tidbits, informs members of the general meeting program and location for that month. It also details other scheduled activities and member news.

We had great success last year and hope to have another successful year.  We will be looking to all of you for your help with the set up (Feb. 20, 3-9pm) and the day of the sale.  As we get closer to the date we will have a sign up sheet that will be passed out at a General Meeting.
